About Us

 

 

The Sempronius Fire Department is proud to provide our community with the highest level of fire service, as well as rescue and EMS. Our community is staffed with 100% volunteers. With the support of our community, and our great group of volunteers, your Fire Department and its service to the community continues to grow. As of January 2024, we have a total of 20 active members.

 

 

We have multiple fundraisers throughout the year. Those fundraisers include roughly 6 chicken BBQs that happen at the end of the scheduled months. Our large outdoor giveaway where the top prize is a brand-new Ranger 500 ATV and trailer. Our large truck and tractor pull that happens at the end of the summer each year with 2 tracks and multiple classes that can be joined. Lastly, we have been able to also add in a smaller tractor pull at the beginning of the summer, all of this couldn’t be done without the help of all of our members and their families.

 

 

Located on Phillips Road in Moravia, NY. Entry to the grounds starting at 8:00 am, and the pull starts around 10:00am. Gate admission is a $5 donation per person with children 12 and younger free. Along with the action out on the pulling track, we will have a full line of fantastic food available. Including, but not limited to, hamburgers, hot dogs, hot sausages, cold & hot drinks. Come join the fun and visit with your friends and neighbors. We will have bleacher seating, but feel free to bring your lawn chairs!!

OUR ANNUAL OUTDOOR GIVEAWAY:

We have 500 tickets that give you and 1 guest admission to the event for a donation of $100/ticket.  Anyone that bought a ticket the year prior will be mailed a letter of interest for the following year once tickets have been made up and you will receive first choice on tickets. Along with the prizes we have a meal with live music following the drawing.

We will have around 200 chicken halves available for order per each BBQ.

Prices are as follows: $10 a half and $15 a meal- meals include homemade baked beans, macaroni salad, a homemade roll and salt potato’s. We accept cash and check as payment. Checks made payable to the Sempronius Fire Department. We do encourage you to pre-order as they will sell fast. All chicken must be picked up by 1:00pm if not picked up by that time they will then go to someone else.

If you can’t make the events, but would like to contribute to our fire department, you may mail a donation to the department at, Sempronius Fire Department, 2284 NY-41A Moravia, NY 13118. Which is a tax-deductible contribution to our firehouse.

 

As always, we are accepting applications for new members in all aspects of our volunteer organization and would very much appreciate any help you may be able to give.
